Smart-Review Commentary: Nikon’s entry level D3200 is one of Nikon’s best selling SLRs. Although low priced, it is loaded with advanced features. It is designed for simplicity of use. It has received excellent consumer and professional reviews for its price range. It has huge improvements from its predecessor, the D3100. Upgraded features include: increase from 14.2 megapixels to 24.2 megapixels, new EXPEED 3 image processor for faster operation, and one touch Full HD recording with full-time autofocus, manual exposure control and stereo sound. Full time autofocus will allow you to take video without having to manually focus as the subject moves, if you choose not to. The Rebel Canon T4i, also has this feature. We are happy to see that Nikon has also added an external microphone jack to this camera for better sound options. Another dramatic change that will please users is the quadrupling of the resolution of the LCD screen from 230,000 to 921,000 pixels. ISO has gone from 3200 to 6400 for better light sensitivity. We believe this to be an excellent entry level SLR with features only seen in high end SLRs. For its price, performance and substantial upgrades from the previous model, the Nikon D3200 is a Smart Review Top Pick.
