Dyson Ball Animal 2 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Miele Vs. Dyson Vacuum Cleaners

Miele Vs. Dyson Vacuums: Miele and Dyson are two of the higher grade vacuum manufacturers on the market. Dyson invented the bagless cyclonic vacuum. Miele vacuums are German engineered, and tested to last 20 years of usage. Most of Miele’s line is bagged and uses hygienically sealed bags to contain dust and dirt. Miele canister vacuums are among the best quality available, and they have a large variety of models to fit your needs.

Miele the company has been around for over 100 years. Both brands have very high quality with long warranties. Both offer vacuums with strong suction and able to tackle pet hair. Miele vacuums are known for their high quality, quiet operation, and sealed systems. Dyson has very innovative tools, and high power. This article will compare Miele vs. Dyson vacuums in three categories; Uprights, Canister and Cordless.

Dyson Animal 2 Upright Vacuum

Dyson Animal 2 Upright Vacuum

Miele Upright Vs. Dyson Upright Vacuums: Both Miele and Dyson have very capable uprights. Both provide the suction and powered brushroll to clean carpets of dust, dirt and pet hair. Both are not lightweight vacuums, but heavy duty, high powered cleaning machines. All Miele uprights are bagged vacuums, that hygienically seal in the dirt. All Dyson uprights are Bagless, where you empty the dust bin into a trashcan, with some of the allergens getting into the air.

Miele and Dyson Upright Vacuum Differences: Miele uprights have 4 power suction settings, while Dyson always runs at full power. You can power down the Miele for delicate rugs and drapes. Miele upright vacuums run quieter than Dyson Vacuums, and have longer power cords. For pet vacuums, the Miele has an activated charcoal filter to absorb pet odors. Miele also uses a “sealed system” to lock in dust and allergens. Many Miele uprights have LED headlights, while Dyson has none. Dyson has a unique Tangle-Free Pet Tool, great for pet hair, while Miele has a standard turbo brush. The Miele vacuum weighs more than the Dyson (more metal parts). Miele is more expensive than Dyson.

Miele Canister Vs. Dyson Canister Vacuums: In canister vacuums, Miele takes the lead over Dyson in canisters with not only a quality product, but many more choices. Most Miele canister vacuums are bagged vacuums, that hygienically seal in the dirt. All Dyson uprights are Bagless, where you empty the dust bin into a trashcan, with some of the allergens getting into the air. Miele has recently introduced the new CX1 Blizzard Bagless Canisters.

Miele Parquet Twister

Included: Miele Parquet Twister Hard Floor Tool

Miele and Dyson Canister Vacuum Differences: Miele bagged canisters have 6 power settings (4 for the Blizzard series), while Dyson always runs at full power. The brushroll powerhead on the Miele can be powered (depending on model), while all of Dyson Canisters have air driven brushrolls. We believe that the Miele powered brushrolls are better suited for carpet, especially thicker carpet. Miele also provides a Parquet Hard Floor Tool with most of its vacuums, with soft natural fibers. Dyson instead uses a multi-floor tool.

Miele vacuums run much quieter than Dyson Vacuums. For pet vacuums, the Miele Cat & Dog has an activated charcoal filter to absorb pet odors while you vacuum. Miele also uses a “sealed system” to lock in dust and allergens. Dyson uses HEPA filtration. Miele uses no scratch rubber wheels and offers hard floor brushes, ideal for hardwood floors. Miele uses stainless steel for its wands, Dyson uses plastic. Miele can be more or less expensive than Dyson depending on the model. Miele scored much higher ratings than Dyson in Canister vacuums.

Dyson V10 Absolute Cordless Vacuum

Miele Cordless Vs. Dyson Cordless Vacuums: Currently Miele does not have a cordless vacuum, but we expect that to change. Dyson however has developed what we believe to be the best cordless vacuums on the market. The build quality is excellent. They are lightweight (less than 6 lbs.), extremely powerful, and come with a variety of high quality tools to do all your cleaning needs. The Dyson vacuums can detach to a handheld vacuum to clean your stairs, upholstery, and car interiors.

Miele Suction Control

Miele’s uprights provide 4 levels of suction control.

What makes Miele Unique- Main Differences: Miele vacuums have many high end features that many other vacuums don’t have, including Dyson. Multiple Suction Power Settings: This allows you to vacuum delicate areas with reduced suction. Quieter Vacuums: Miele vacuums are relatively quiet compared to other vacuums, and can be quieter when you turn down the power. Miele uses stainless steel instead of cheaper materials like plastic or aluminum for its wands. Miele also uses rubber wheels, which will not mar or scratch hardwood floors. Many of the canisters come with a Parquet hardwood floor brush with soft natural fibers that won’t scratch hardwood floors. Miele uses a sealed system and hygienically sealed multi-layer bags, so no dust goes in the air when vacuuming or when emptying the bag into the trash. Great for those with allergies. Miele tests its vacuums to last 20 years. Miele will far outlast cheaper vacuums.

What makes Dyson Unique- Main Differences: Dyson invented the cyclonic bagless vacuum, and has been an innovator in the bagless vacuum category. Dyson is also known for strong, powerful, suction. One area that Dyson stands out is its tools. One in particular is the Tangle-Free Pet Tubine Tool, which we believe is the best air driven tool for pet hair on the market. We have seen this tool demonstrated, and it can pick up long hair and even shoelaces without wrapping around the brushes. This model standard comes with Dyson Animal Corded Vacuums. Where Dyson has really advanced is in the cordless vacuum category, where there is no competitor near the quality, features, and tools provided by Dyson. The new Dyson cordless stick vacuums can replace a corded vacuum in many circumstances.
