Dyson V10 Vs. Dyson V11 Cordless Stick Vacuums (Differences): Dyson makes what we believe to be the best quality and performing lightweight cordless vacuums available. The Dyson V10 and V11 are the top models, and are outstanding cordless cleaning machines.

These models come with extra accessories that allow you to clean your entire home and car. Both models are highly effective on both carpets and hard floors, as well as pet hair. Both models also come with a motorized pet tool for smaller areas, stairs, and car interiors. These models are quieter than previous versions.

The Main differences between the Dyson V10 Vs. the V11 are: The V11 has a larger battery and with its V11 motor provides 23% higher suction at MAX. The battery life, especially with motorized tools is better on the V11, giving you longer run times. The biggest upgrade is the new V11 LCD status screen, that shows how much cleaning time you have, which mode you are in, charging status, and alerts to clogs and other events.

The V11 has added a new dynamic load sensor to the Motorized Floor Tool, which works with the new AUTO mode to automatically adjust power for different types of floors. The V11 weighs more than the V10 due to the bigger battery. See the comparison chart below of key features.

Bottom Line Dyson Cordless V10 Vs. V11: The V11 (Torque Drive Model) has many improvements over the V10 such as larger battery (longer runtime), increased suction, new AUTO mode with load sensor, and the new LCD status screen.

The status screen on the V11 is really useful in that it tells you how much time is left, lets you know what mode you are in, show battery% when charging, and alerts you to clogs and dirty filters. The V10 Absolute comes with the extra fluffy hard floor tool, which is optional on the V11. Both models do a great job on all flooring surfaces, but the V11 has the edge with the new LCD status screen, bigger battery, and AUTO mode.

Battery Life V10 Vs. V11: The V11 Torque Drive vacuum has a larger capacity battery (38% higher capacity). This translates into better battery life, especially with motorized floor tools.

Dyson's Fluffy Soft Roller

Performance on Hard Floors: Both models come with a multi-floor brushroll which works well on hard floors.

Only the V10 Absolute comes with an extra dedicated “Fluffy” hard floor tool. This motorized brushroll has a very soft brushroll that is capable of trapping both fine dust, and large particles (like Cheerios), all in one pass.

Performance on Carpets: We have tested both models on carpets, and find that they both do a great job of vacuuming and grooming the carpet. We give a slight edge to the V11, with a more powerful brushroll. Both models have a 3 position suction control on the floor tool.

What makes Dyson Cordless Vacs Unique- Main Differences: Dyson has re-invented the cordless vacuum and has been an innovator and pathfinder in creating new technology. Dyson is known for strong, powerful, suction using new digital V7, V8, V10 and now V11 motors. One area that Dyson stands out is its tools. Dyson uses Nylon and Carbon Fibers on its main floor tool, to vacuum both carpets and hard floors.

Recently Dyson introduced its new Fluffy hard floor tool, capable of vacuuming both large and tiny particles at the same time (Cheerios and flour). Dyson uses high impact polycarbonate plastics (same as used in crash helmets and riot shields) for greater durability. The build quality is outstanding, especially when you compare Dyson Cordless to cheap knockoffs and imitators.

Dyson Cordless Vacuum Glossary of Terms

Root Cyclone™ = Root Cyclone™ technology uses powerful centrifugal forces to separate dust from the air. The new Dyson cordless machines have three distinct stages of cyclonic separation – each engineered to capture smaller and smaller particles.

Radial Root Cyclone™ = Radial Root Cyclone™ is the latest Dyson Cyclone technology , where airflows maximize suction power. These refinements can help remove more dust, pet hair, and allergens.

Suction Airwatts = Dyson has measured suction power in Airwatts (AW) and you can compare suction power by comparing the measured suction. Higher numbers indicate more suction. The Dyson V11 has more suction than any other cordless vacuum on the market (185 Airwatts).

Best Dyson Cordless Vacuums for Pet Hair = Although all Dyson cordless vacuums have the power to remove pet hair, those that we call a pet hair vac have extra tools (like the mini turbo brush) to get rid of pet hair problems. Those cordless models with the most suction are best for pet hair removal. The best cordless pet vacuums are the Dyson V11 Torque Drive, the Dyson V10 Animal, and the Dyson V10 Absolute .

Lifetime HEPA Filter = Most Dyson Vacuums have a HEPA filter. A HEPA filter is best for those with allergies to dust. HEPA filters will remove the smallest particles of dirt, dust, and pet hair so that you don’t breathe in what you are vacuuming. Dyson Absolute V10 and V11 Cordless Vacuums have Whole machine HEPA Filtration. Great for those with allergies or pets.

Dyson Cordless Vacuum = Dyson cordless vacuums have more suction power than the competition. Radial Root Cyclone™ keeps the filter clean, unlike the competition which can have dust and dirt caked on and must be cleaned regularly. The latest V7, V8, V10 and V11 Cordless Vacuums have as much suction power as the leading corded uprights, yet weighs less than 6 pounds. The V7, V8, V10, & V11 models have more suction and more brush power than the V6 models. The new V11 has the highest suction power of any cordless vacuum on the market (185 Airwatts).

Dust Ejection System = The new cordless Dyson V7, V8 and V10 & V11 Cordless Vacuums are the first Dysons with a dust ejection system, that in one step, empties the bin, and cleans the screens and bin at the same time. This is the best dust ejection system on the market.

Which Dyson Cordless has the longest battery life? = The newest cordless Dyson V11 Torque Drive (60 minutes+) and the Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute (60 minutes) have the longest cleaning times. These are for suction only, you will get less time when using the motorized tool. These times are at the lowest power setting. The V11 has a larger battery and will get longer cleaning times with its motorized tools attached, as its battery has more capacity.

Dust Bin Size = The dust bin holds all the dust and dirt that you vacuum. In the cordless area, the V10 and V11 models have the largest bins at .20 gallons. The larger the bin, the less number of times you will have to empty it while vacuuming. Cordless vacuums always have smaller dust bins than full size vacuums.
