NEW for 2013. Panasonic’s 3D Ready 50-inch TC-P50ST60 1080p High-Definition Plasma HDTV. This is Panasonic’s latest 4th generation of 3D Ready TVs. It is a high end Panasonic Plasma TV for either 2D or 3D viewing. 3D programming is now available on Blu-ray disc, ESPN, Comcast, Video Consoles, and other programming. This year’s model includes 2 pairs of 3D active glasses. The Infinite Black Pro Filter with newly developed fast switching phosphors provides for minimal afterimages and displays deep blacks with minimal reflection for bright, vivid images. This produces a 5,500,000:1 contrast ratio. A new motion compensating technology (NeoPlasma Black panel with 2500 FFD) has made it possible to render faster-moving images with greater sharpness. Features 24p playback for watching motion pictures. The 1920 x 1080 pixel Full HD screen has double the pixels of a 720p TV. It shares the 16:9 aspect ratio similar to movie theater screens, providing a theater-like experience at home. The ST60 Series has a long life 100,000 hour panel.
Panasonic has discontinued manufacturing Plasma TVs, so the 2013 models will be their final year (while supplies last).

Smart-Review Commentary: For 2013, Panasonic’s lowest priced 3D Plasma ST60 Series has received upgrades that were previously only seen on the high end sets. Panasonic is a leader in 3D Ready Plasma TVs. The Viera TC-P50ST60 includes the Neoplasma Black Panel with Infinite Black Pro Filter with faster switching phosphors to produce great contrast, and will help in making a picture with great colors, excellent shadow detail, and inky blacks. The ST60 Series is DLNA compliant to allow you to use content from your PC and other devices on your TV. The ST60 has an integrated SD card slot and USB ports with which you can show your photos or home videos in full HD on its large screen. The Smart TV interface has been upgraded. Build your own homescreen (Clock, Calendar, Weather, and more). You have access to full internet content including Full Web Browser, Netflix, Youtube, Skype, Facebook, HuluPlus and more. VIERA Remote2 APP allow you to control your TV with your smartphone or tablet. The set has a built-in Wi-Fi adapter with BlueTooth, so there is nothing extra to buy. With VIERA Remote App Support, you can control your TV with your smartphone or tablet. The remote control has illuminated keys, making it easier to operate in a darkened room. This year’s model now includes two pair of 3D active glasses. We were impressed by the extremely high consumer/professional ratings on this TV, which is what we expected given the high ratings of last year’s model. We also got to preview the model at CES 2013, very impressive. The Panasonic TC-P50ST60 is great value for a very high quality Plasma TV and is a Smart-Review Top Pick for 2013.
