NordicTrack: iFit with 16,000 workout programs, live workouts & Google Maps, LIVE Resistance Control, incline/decline, and the screen can swivel so you can workout off the bike. The main differences between the Echelon EX5-S and NordicTrack S22i are: The main difference between these models are the large NordicTrack adds a 22-inch HD touchscreen, and Bluetooth connectivity to iFit which unlocks 16,000 workouts (many more than Echelon), iFit Coach, and Google Maps to ride around the world. 1 year free iFit membership is included. This is similar to Pelaton bikes. You also get 3 lb. dumbbells for cross training exercises.

The Echelon EX5-S Smart Connect Bike is an indoor cycling bike that has about the same size large touchscreen as the NordicTrack, but the bike did not get as high reviews from consumers on both the bike and the Online classes and the APP. The NordicTrack S22i has a 22-inch HD Touchscreen (same size as a Pelaton bike) to view live and recorded workouts. Also Echelon gives you a limited subscription (30 days) to the Echelon Fit workout App, versus a 1 year iFit membership from Nordictrack. The Nordictrack S22i is considered a commercial grade bike and has a higher user weight limit. Below is a comparison chart of the differences between the two exercise bike models.

Echelon LCD Touchscreen

The Echelon Smart Connect Bike has a large 21.5-inch touchscreen used along with the Echelon APP.

NordicTrack S22i Vs. Echelon EX5-S Console Comparison: The Consoles are about the same size and mostly screen. Both are HD touchscreens about 22-inches in size. The large screens give you a more immersive experience when using the iFit or Echelon workouts, which is similar to a Pelaton bike.

NordicTrack Incline Decline

NordicTrack's Incline & Decline feature can be controlled manually or by interactive workout program.

Bottom Line: NordicTrack S22i Vs. NordicTrack S22i: The main difference between the models is that NordicTrac is using iFit for classes and gives you a 1 year membership. Echelon uses its own proprietary workouts that seems to be more limited than iFit. Echelon only gives you a 30 day trial. Only the Nordictrac has incline & decline capability. Reviews seem to favor the Nordictrack over the Echelon. If you are looking for a highly rated bike with online classes and the ability to ride around the world then the S22i by NordicTrack which works like a Pelaton bike is going to be your choice. The price of the Echelon Smart Connect bike is cheaper, but then you don’t get a full year workout classes subscription, which cancels out the price difference.

A unique feature on on the NordicTrack S22i is the Powergrade Incline & Decline Drive System which allows up to 20% incline and 10% decline.

NordicTrack Residential Warranty: 10 year Frame; 2 years parts, 1 year labor.
Echelon Residential Warranty: 1 years (electronic & mechanical).

iFit Enabled: The NordicTrack S22i will receive a free 1 year membership to iFit which provides over 16,000 on-demand workouts, Google Maps, and Live interactive workouts. You can bike around the world in different city streets with Google maps. Off bike workouts for the rest of your body (the screen swivels out).
