The main differences between the Schwinn AirDyne AD6 and AD7 are: The AD7 model from a structural standpoint has a much larger fan system (for more resistance and lower noise), and can support a heavier user up to (350 lbs. Vs. 300 lbs.) on the AD6 model. The Schwinn AD7 not only allows vertical adjustment of the seat, but also front to back (Fore/Aft) adjustment. On the computer console, the AD6 LCD provides one window of information, while the AD7 AirDyne provides multiple windows of information. Schwinn AirDyne (AD6 Vs. AD7) Console Comparison: The Consoles are similar, but the AD7 has a higher resolution screen, with multiple windows.
Both consoles are battery powered, but the AD7 also can be plugged in using the optional AC Adapter. Wireless telemetry is enabled on both bikes to use Polar or other wireless heart rate straps.
Bottom Line: The Schwinn AirDyne AD7 offers some useful advantages over the AD6 model. This includes a larger perimeter weighted fan, better and easier to read LCD console, multi-position hand grips for cross training, and higher user weight capacity. Another big plus for the AD7 is the ability to move the seat Fore/Aft (back and forward). The AD6 does not have this feature. The AD6 is substantially lower in price, which is its sole advantage. Both models are highly rated and economically priced. Both will give you a great workout.
