Sharp’s latest 40-inch 1080p LCD HDTV. 2009 Upgraded features from the previous year’s model include, 120hz Frame Rate Conversion and a special dejudder feature that helps eliminate background motion artifacts. Upgraded to 5 HDMI connections. Spectral Contrast Engine XD (Extreme Dark) dynamic contrast ratio. This year’s model also features a 10-bit Superlucent Advanced Super View (ASV) panel for a dramatically bright and crisp picture with reduced haze and reflectivity. fast pixel response time of 4ms. The black cabinet blends into to a soft champagne gold hue that accents the bottom of the frame. The included table stand features swivel capability.

NTSC analog and ATSC with QAM digital TV tuners built in. 2 component video inputs (1080p), 5 HDMI, PC input (D-sub), lets you add DVDs, camcorders, PCs and a range of other digital devices. Also features two 10 watt stereo speakers.

Smart-Review Commentary: For 2009, Sharp’s E77u series provides a solid line of HDTVs. Sharp does not publish its contrast ratio, but claims that its Special Contrast Engine XD provides excellent contrast. Owner reviews confirms that these HDTVs have an excellent picture and feature set. It has a fast 4ms response, and the 120HZ technology to handle fast moving action. Sharp uses a 10 bit panel on this TV, which increases the depth of colors available. Sharp has 5 HDMI ports available which is more than most other sets. All in all a solid performer, with excellent consumer reviews.
