New for 2010. Introducing Samsung’s first 3D Plasma HDTVs. This latest generation top of the line 58-inch 1080p, 3D ready High-Def Resolution Plasma HDTV has many upgraded features from previous models. Upgraded to 7,000,000:1 dynamic contrast, and upgraded to Energy Star® 4.0 (which uses less energy than previous models). The 1920 x 1080 pixel count of this plasma TV provides twice the number of pixels as 720p HDTV displays. Samsung’s 3D Active Glasses sync up with your 3D TV to produce 3D images, allowing you to watch movies and TV with action that leaps right off the screen. Even your favorite 2D shows can now be transformed to 3D in real time. You can play 3D content from 3D enabled Blu-ray players, and future broadcasts on cable and satellite, including movies and sports. Samsung’s Real Black Filter, is only available on the PNC8000 series and improves performance in bright light, and improves contast.
Samsung Internet Ready Apps: Netflix video (with netflix subscription), Skype, Facebook, Youtube and more. Just plug in an ethernet cable, or the optional Wifi adapter.
Sound for this set is provided by two ten watt speakers, and features SRS TruSurround XT sound. This set is suitable for wall mounting. Comes with pedestal base. The set has 4 HDMI and two component jacks. Integrated NTSC/ ATSC /QAM tuners. Game mode. This is the top of the line Plasma set for Samsung for 2010. With the addition of 3D capability, you will be ready for the upcoming wave of 3D content. In the near future 3D programming will be available from DIRECTV, ESPN 3D, and others. Sony has announced 3D blu-ray disks to be released this summer. This TV will allow you to view this content when programming is available. 3D TV works by sending infrared signals to the 3D glasses which then synchronize with the TV to produce the 3D effect. It has received excellent reviews, and is a 2010 Smart-Review Top Pick for 3D Plasma TVs.
