New for 2009. Samsung’s latest sleek 46-inch 1080p LCD HDTV with 120Hz technology. 120HZ provides clear motion and fluid frame transitions. Upgraded features from the previous year include, Doubling of the contrast ratio to a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, new Media 2.0 feature lets you access countless hours of content from Yahoo! and Flickr, and added DLNA certified connectivity. The ln46b650 features fast 4ms response time, and four HDMI connections. The 1080p display has over two million pixel resolution, 10 bit processing, along with an SRS TruSurround XT sound system. Touch of color finish.

CCFL-Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp: Provides colors in your picture that were not available before. NTSC analog and ATSC with QAM digital TV tuners built in. 2 Component video inputs, 4 HDMI, USB 2.0 and full connectivity lets you add DVDs, Blu-ray, Camcorders, PCs and a range of other digital devices. Also features two 10 watt stereo speakers. 2 USB ports allow for digital photo/video/MP3 playback on the big screen.

Smart-Review Commentary: For 2009, Samsung has made last year’s top rated 120HZ 650 “a” series model even better with the new 650 “b” series. This model is available in a 52-inch, 46-inch, 40-inch, 37-inch and 32-inch version. We gave high marks to last year’s model for its high consumer ratings, professional ratings, and advanced features. They were best sellers. This years model gets our “Top Pick” rating as did last year’s model. Again we are impressed by very high consumer ratings, excellent professional ratings, and especially the latest features which again surpass last year’s model by a wide margin. Especially notable is the doubling of the contrast ratio, and more HDMI ports, as well as the inclusion of DLNA for added connectivity with home media (music, photos, and videos). Please note that this year, the 52-inch model has been replaced with the 55-inch model. The 55-inch model has more powerful 15 watt speakers. For the settings of the 120Hz feature, we have read that for best results a suggestion is to turn Blur Reduction to 10 and Judder Reduction to zero in your settings menu.
