The powerful top of the line Nikon D3x SLR is Nikon’s best flagship professional SLR. With its FX (full frame) imager, it is capable of 24.5 megapixel images.Featured on this model are dual CF card slots, Live View, and Huge viewfinder with 100% viewfinder coverage. Live View allows you to compose your pictures and movies by using the new 3.0-inch LCD high resolution screen (920,000 pixels). 5.0 fps continuous shooting, Active D-Lighting function which can vastly improve shadows and highlights of high-contrast scenes. Smart-Review Commentary: Nikon’s flagship professional D3x is Nikon’s current best digital SLR. It is designed with features for the professional user. It has received excellent consumer and professional reviews. Autofocus has been improved to 51 focus points as well as adding 3D focus tracking, and includes Live View. The D3x has a huge viewfinder with 100% coverage, and stores large RAW files. Absent on this model is the ultrasonic sensor cleaning seen on more recent models and this model does not have an HD movie mode. For a full frame camera, it is a little pricey but a strong contender in the full frame DSLR market.
